(17/2/2019)  Five Years On And Still In Our Thoughts - Paddy Grimshaw

This day five years ago the Fellowship lost its most ardent member - Paddy Grimshaw (PJ). Paddy told everyone that the Northern Ireland Polio Fellowship was his family and we all loved him like a brother. When the phone would go and you heard the famous words "PJ from Ballyclare here" you knew that Paddy had some story to relate or had a possible contact of someone who could help the Fellowship and you would be on the phone for half an hour.

Brought up in the care system Paddy had a tough upbringing but he had such a gentle heart. He was always concerned for our most vulnerable members and sat on the committee through the darkest days of the troubles. He was thrilled when the Fellowship started to expand again and never missed a quiz, midweek break, annual dinner, AGM or BBQ. He wanted all members to be active in the Fellowship. In this our 80th anniversary year we fondly remember our dear friend.

Rest easy Paddy. Gone but never forgotten.
