(19/9/2015)  Death of John Shortt

It is with much regret the Fellowship announces the death of our member John Shortt. Shortty as he was known was a very active member of the Fellowship in the 1960s. He was a regular at the swimming in Ormeau Baths and the weekly trips to Polio House and went on all the outings and parties which Mr Rankin organised at this time. He was particularly friendly with Jim Bailie, Billy Nesbitt, Christine Martin (now Connolly) and Breige Smith (now Torrans).

John immigrated to Australia and had a very full life there and was back in touch recently with Jim Bailie through facebook. He had been ill for sometime. He was in his late fifties and will be sadly missed my his wife children and grandchildren.

Sincere sympathy from all his friends in the NIPF to his family circle.

(6/9/2015)  BBQ Roaring Success

The Annual BBQ took place today at The Clandeboye Estate, Bangor. A record number of Fellowship members and friends attended - over 70. It was standing room only as an SOS went out for extra chairs as the response to the invites exceeded all expectations. A great time was had by all. The food was out of this world and a big thank you to Jim Bailie for organising the catering.

Master of ceremonies Ronnie Connolly was bowled over when all 70 attending entered the first game. To say it took a bit longer to run through the heats than he expected is an understatement.

It was great for so many old friends to meet up again. As ever an enormous thank you to Christine and Ronnie for all the work they put into the organisation of one of the highlights of the Fellowship's year.

Photos will follow shortly.
