(31/12/2012)  Death of Carmel Denny

Everyone in the Fellowship is saddened to learn of the death of our long term memebr and friend Carmel.

Carmel a native of Moate near Mullingar came to Belfast to work with her aunt in her aunt's hairdressing business. While here she met her husband Jimmy Denny and they settled in San Souci Park.

After Jimmy's death Carmel sold her house and bought two apartments one in San Souci Park and the other in Moate and spent her time between the two properties.

Always very active in the Fellowship Carmel was for many years on the committee and attended almost every function - annual dinner, annual bar-b-que, annual holiday and many other things. She always brought along her friends and was the life and soul of the party.

Carmel was also active in the WI and indeed attended their November meeting and was in fine form. She could not attend their Christmas lunch as she was at the hospital for tests. She went to spend Christmas in her beloved Moate and died there peacefully surrounded by her family on 31 December.

Carmel is, at her request, being buried in Moate but there will be a memorial service in Belfast in January when members of the Fellowship will be able to pay their respects.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
