(28/9/2010)  Quiz - Saturday 30 October 2010

There will be another quiz on Saturday 30 October 2010 at 7.30pm in The Gnosh Bistro.

This time the quiz will have a musical theme.

As before the cost will be £10 per person which includes entry to quiz, entry to play your cards right (with a chance to win £100, as the jackpot of £250 was won last time), spot prizes and the usual magnificent buffet.

Remember that La Gnosh has no licence so bring your own.

The last quiz was a full house so lets hope this one is as well attended.

(28/9/2010)  End Polio Now

As part of their drive to eradicate polio in the third world the Newtownabbey Branch of Rotary are planting Crocus bulbs at The Valley Leisure Centre Newtownabbey on Saturday 2 October between 10.30am and 1.00pm. Any available members are invited to attend to show support for this project.

The project is called "Focus on Crocus". When medical staff visit a village to immunise children against polio they dip the child's finger in purple ink after the immunisation. If they see a child without a purple finger they know he or she has to be immunised. Hence the name "Focus on Crocus".

As all of us suffered from lack of immuniation we should if at all possible attend to give our support.
